Some comments on Barna Horváth's oeuvre

Abstract

The article does not intend to analyze Barna Horváth’s entire lifework in all its details, because this could be a lifelong research project in itself. It merely attempts to review the trend of his scientific work by highlighting some particularly important aspects. Of course, certain biographical and personal questions cannot be ignored. It is also necessary to present the foundations of his legal theory and the essence of his legal sociology. Beyond the chronological order, it is nevertheless necessary to highlight his work entitled “The Trial of the Genius”, which provides a kind of essence of his life’s story and scientific work, taking into account historical situations as well. This is not only unique within the discipline of legal sociology, but its literary and historical value is also indisputable.
