This paper argues that Tamás Nagy should be regarded as a major legal theory scholar from that generation who begun their professional career following the political transition in 1989. His oeuvre is worthy of recognition and studying from various aspects. Nagy Tamás’s oeuvre has two focal points represented by two monographs. This first one is about the presentation of the American law and literature scholarly movement, while the other one puts the law and literature focused study of Péter Hajnóczy’s oeuvre into the centre. In addition, three theses can be identified in Tamás Nagy’s scholarly works. The first one is the questioning of the strict separation of law and literature, the second one is the recognition the social-legal reading of 20th century Hungarian sociographies, while the third one is literary reference of the text of the law.
