From being treated as a tool to the dignity of spiritual beauty. Once again on Dostoevsky's concept of human dignity

Abstract

In my paper, I examine the question of respect for human dignity in Dostoevsky's works. In Dostoevsky's novels, there are many variations on the theme of instrumentalization; in addition to murder, poverty, the death penalty, and slavery also appear as violations of human dignity. In my study, I substantiate this claim without claiming to be exhaustive. I then analyze the novel The Adolescent (1875), touching on connections with other works by Dostoevsky.
