Open Science is a movement to make the results of scientific research open and transparent. The Open Access and Open Data aims of this movement are relevant for librarians as well. Making scientific publications openly accessible has central importance if our aim is to reduce the level of inequality within and between societies regarding the access to knowledge. Preprints are less known, but effective methods to communicate our results and thoughts to the broader audience before the final publication of our work. Another aim of the Open Science movement is to make scientists share their data, code, and research methods. The challenges here are partly the inexperience and partly the lack of proper data storage and data management practices. A new branch of librarians, the data librarians, try to assist researchers to achieve these aims.
