A lovasberényi Szűzvár felmérése és modellezése

Abstract

During the complex survey of Szűzvár in Lovasberény, we combined classic geodetic measurements (GNSS RTK) with modern geodetic technologies (aerial LIDAR and SLAM laser scanning), which enabled us to produce several detailed digital terrain models (DTM). We examined the different accuracies of the various measurement methods using statistical evaluation, regarding height differences.

Based on the histograms, it can be clearly concluded that the differences between RTK–SLAM and RTK–LIDAR follow a normal distribution, which can also be clearly seen from their bell-shaped curves. In the case of RTK-SLAM, most of the deviations are positive, i.e., the GNSS RTK measurements showed higher values than the SLAM model. The differences are not randomly distributed but are linked to specific topographical units, such as the northern ditch, the walkway, and the edges of the castle.

Overall, the study confirmed that different data collection technologies have specific advantages: LIDAR is reliable in large areas covered with dense vegetation, while SLAM excels in modelling smaller scale, detailed, steep sections. GNSS RTK measurements served as a reference point for comparing the technologies. The combined application provides an opportunity for archaeological research to create more accurate, multi-layered geoinformation documentation, which can contribute to the long-term scientific and heritage preservation of earthworks, especially complex ones.
