Abstract

This study examines how health and happiness are represented in textbooks used to teach Norwegian as a second language, focusing on materials employed at ELTE University from the 1990s to today. The central hypothesis is that the vocabulary and themes found in these textbooks reflect broader societal interests, and that health and happiness have become increasingly prominent over time. A key reason for this trend is that Norwegian language textbooks often incorporate elements of social studies, aiming to support learners in integrating into and better understanding Norwegian society.
