Abstract

During the last one and a half decade several smaller or larger brownfield and greenfield investments were implemented in Szekszárd. Some of these territories were enriched with new functions, or their former role became more intense, modified functions also emerged in many cases. Examples of insisted problems, as urban sprawl contrary to the valuable vineyards of the historical wine region and urban spaces with degraded functions also exist. In addition, touristic events (i.e. Wine region half-marathon, Iván-valley Kadarka tour, Rock Marathon) enlarged the knowledge of visitors in relation with the city and its urban and garden-plot spaces. All of this influences the mobility patterns, spatial and temporal preferences of inhabitants and tourists in the urban-non urban space of the city. It also decisively stimulates the image creation on each district and on the whole settlement. In current state of our research we made an assessment of these changes to describe and present the dynamics of functional city morphological changes in Szekszárd. On the base of the results it would be easier to reach our final aim: the future investigation of space-time consumption of tourists and citizens.
