This study, with the help of criminology, aims to seek answers to a question that was inspired by the principles of 8 March issued by the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ). The principles contain very bold suggestions regarding crimes that represent sensitive topics in society, such as sexual acts, drug use, abortion or homelessness. Does decriminalization help? Is the legislator willing to move in this direction? Are there arguments in favor of easing severity? What is more important, human rights or society’s sense of security? These questions are to be answered in the study.
